The Not So Free Alignment

I started in this business under an  alignment rack and it’s our service specialty.

When I see unknowing shoppers being duped by Town Fair Tire, and read on their web-site that most shops  ”do the alignment so that they can sell and install front end parts“,  I take offense…..Because worn/loose or damaged front end parts like ball joints and tie rods are a real safety hazard and shouldn’t be taken lightly, as they suggest.

They continue: “If the vehicle needs parts we will give you a list of the specific parts that need replacement. We will suggest that you should bring the parts notation to your personal mechanic and have them assess the parts that we have identified as needing to be replaced. After you have the parts replaced, your vehicle will require another wheel alignment, bring your car back to us and we will do a second alignment…ABSOLUTELY FREE!

So they did the first alignment with bad parts?.

Take it from me; There’s no such thing as a Free Front End Alignment for today’s cars. It’s bait….. so they can switch you to the 4-wheel alignment that your car really needs.

The classic “Bait and Switch” and not a good feeling when it happens to you. Yes, you may pay a little more at a local shop, but you get a better job.
