How to Read the Tire Size

There’s four things you need to know about your tires before you go shopping locally or online.

185 - The tire width in millimeters.
75 - Sidewall height expressed as a % of it’s width.
14 - Rim Diameter in inches

82S - Load Index and Performance Rating: An S rating means this tire is rated to 112mph

(The P and the R aren’t important unless you’re buying something special or trailer tires)

Other than the tire size, there is more information to be found on a tire’s sidewall. Every tire has a story, When it was born, where it was born, what it’s made of and  how much it can carry. It’s a global business and it’s nice to know this when you’re making an investment in tires.
